Why Article Marketing Still Creates the Best Backlinks

Are you familiar with the most recent Google Panda update? Yes, Google has done it again with even more changes to the way they rank webpages in the search results. Many lost traffic and ranking with the first update, but the second one has crushed some very large websites once again.

If you didn’t change the way you view search engine optimization with the first Google Panda update, then you fully understand what the consequences were. They will be even worse if you don’t make changes to your strategies this time around.

Websites can still gain top ranking on Google, but not with the old strategies. You must abandon many old strategies for writing content and for building links.

No longer can you just blast out tens of thousands of low quality links and expect to see your website jump to the top of the rankings. You need a mix of low, medium and high quality backlinks, which article marketing can provide.

Post the Article to your Site First

When you write an article to help you with marketing your website or blog, the first place you should always post it is your own website or blog. This shows the search engines that it is your content and it went to your site first. You will gain the best ranking for the content on your own website, which will help you gain more traffic over time.

Submit to Article Directories

After it is up on your own website and indexed, you can start using it to build backlinks and traffic. You don’t need to make any changes and the last thing you want to do is spin the article. Spinning is a complete waste of time and won’t make a difference in how you rank in the search engines.

Submit the article to 10 or 15 top article directories, like ezinearticles.com, articlesbase.com and goarticles.com. As soon as the articles are approved, you will gain backlinks from each site through the resource box you get. You want to create two links in your resource box with different keyword phrases you target on your website or blog. In addition, you want these links to point to different pages on your site.

That is all you have to do and the rest will happen automatically over time. Other bloggers and website owners will use your article (with the links you created) on their blogs and websites. This will help to create high quality, medium quality and low quality backlinks to your website. This might not be the fastest way to get backlinks, but they will look natural, and they will build over time.

Quality Content is Essential

Since this strategy for backlinking involves writing, you do want to make sure your content is quality content. If you only use low quality content, the directories might not approve your articles. Not to mention the better your content is, the better chance it has of being used by others.

The best way to make sure your content will get used is to deliver on the title of the article. If your title has to do with how to find an alcohol treatment program, don’t write content about what an alcohol treatment program is. The reader is looking for a program and probably already knows what one is.

Use this strategy to build backlinks, and you will see better ranking for the long-term of your website. This will help you maintain your ranking and you won’t need to worry about dropping off the first page of the search results once you get there.

Your next step should probably be learning more about blog writing, whether you represent an alcohol treatment program or sell designer handbags, now that you know about article marketing. Post written by guest blogger James.

Working from Home – Online Options

Many people would love to be able to go to work in their pajamas. Not many people have a job that allows them to work whenever they choose. When you can choose your own hours, you can also choose how much you want to work. Many nine-to-five jobs require someone to work as hard as they can for a scheduled amount of time, only to leave feeling tired and worn out. The benefits of online work are obvious. So how do you get online work?

Online Job Options

If you’re interested in finding a work-from-home job, you first need to determine your strengths, which often — and should — coincide with your interests. You’ll find work no longer feels like work when you enjoy what you’re doing. Many say that’s the secret to living a fulfilling life.

If you have a great grasp of writing, you may find that freelance writing is a great niche for you. You could also sell your art online. Many artistic souls have found they can sell their masterpieces on Esty and make a pretty penny. If you’re very organized, you could be a great virtual assistant for someone who has a crazy and chaotic schedule they simply cannot manage on their own. For example, you could be a virtual assistant for New York attorneys while living clear across the country. If you simply like to type, you may want to find a position as a data entry specialist. If you have great conversational skills, you could look for a job in the telemarketing, order entry or resolution management fields.

Many companies are looking to hire employees to work from home for just about every skill possible because it saves them overhead, including insurance and office building rent.

Getting Started

To find an online job, you need to search hard. Visit forums and read all of the information you can from other work-from-home employees. Learn which companies are legitimate, what forms of payment to expect and how to find private clients. Learn more about the different types of work-from-home jobs that are available.

Protecting Yourself

When first starting a work-from-home career, you’ll want to be sure you’re working for a legitimate company. There are many companies who want nothing more than to prey on the naive newbies who are trying to get their feet wet in the work-from-home arena.

If you find a company that you’re interested in working for, ask a question in one of the many online work-from-home forums. Many people who work from the comforts of their home have no problem sharing their experiences with newbies and will also warn others of clients or companies that should be avoided.  So now, you’ll be able to live out that dream as a New York attorneys assistant!

This guest post written by Mary who writes on all things from home technology to finding the best York attorneys.

4 Things all Start-Up Businesses Need to Prepare For

by admin on May 8th, 2012 at 1:48 pm
Posted In: Business Coaching, Guest Posts

With the country in seemingly never ending economic turmoil, job prospects are looking pretty bleak. And with what seems like more people out of work than ever before, what can we do to turn things around? Some savvy business brains have decided however, to take matters into their own hands.

As the competition for each job is stiff, increasing numbers of people have decided to make their dreams a reality. Launching your own business is an exhilarating and exciting time, but it’s not without its hard work. If you’re looking at establishing a start-up company, here are 4 things you should make sure you have prepared for:

Location

It is hard to not notice the number of boarded up and empty shops on our high streets. This is because the rental prices for prime high-street location stores have skyrocketed, making it near on impossible for independent businesses to remain.

When looking at a location for your business venture, it would be wise to view properties that are in alternative locations. If you are launching the company alone, consider running it from a home office or online until you have established a big enough presence to move onto the high street.

Competition

Every entrepreneur has an idea that will change the world. Why else would you launch your own businesses? But unless you’re extremely lucky, there will probably be a similar product or service to yours available somewhere else on the market. So before entering into any long-term business venture, it would be wise to thoroughly research this competition.

Look at what their unique selling propositions (USP) are, their prices, their pros, and most importantly their cons. Discover what makes you different from these companies, so you can accurately position yourself in the market. Establish a USP of your own, and make this a major part of your marketing and advertising strategies.

Staffing and Pay

You may intend to run your new company alone in the beginning, but you will eventually have to consider hiring additional staff. You may wish to hire part time, freelance and temporary staff in order to see how well your company grows. As you become more successful, you can move into offering full time positions.

You will also need to decide on fair and accurate rates of pay for these employees. Make sure you know the laws surrounding minimum wage, sick leave, holidays, and maternity leave. This is one of the less glamorous parts of business, but nevertheless it’s one of the most important.

Laws and Regulations

Following on from the laws surrounding payment of employees, there are also other aspects of employment legislation you will need to be aware of. This includes Employment Acts, equality and diversity legislation, and much more. As the employee, you will be responsible for enforcing these laws, and making sure your colleagues follow suit. Employment tribunals are costly and extremely damaging to your reputation. So make sure that you are clearly and accurately adhering to laws and legislations.

Running your own business is a great way to bring your dreams to life, but it is not without hard graft. In today’s economical climate particularly, it can be hard to get your business off the ground. But by following these steps, and with a little perseverance and passion, you should be able to run a successful company.

What is Online Marketing?

by admin on May 3rd, 2012 at 7:24 pm
Posted In: Guest Posts, Multi-level Marketing

If you own a business, you know the important role that marketing plays in the success of your business. There are many different ways to market your business, but each way tends to fall into one of two categories: traditional or online.
Thanks to the popularity of the Internet, online marketing has been leading the way in the marketing department. The problem that some people have with online marketing is that the term encompasses such a broad spectrum of tactics. For this reason, many don’t know what online marketing actually is.

What is online marketing?

Online marketing may also be referred to as Internet marketing. Basically, online marketing is the marketing of products or services using platforms that are found online.
What are some examples of online marketing?

Since online marketing covers such a wide variety of tactics, there are plenty of items that fall into the category. Email marketing, pay-per-click advertising, affiliate marketing, interactive advertising, social media marketing and search engine optimization, to name a few, are all examples of online marketing.

What are the benefits of online marketing?

Online marketing allows your business to reach a wider audience than most traditional marketing tactics. Rather than limit yourself to the local community with a newspaper ad, you can post an interactive ad on the Internet and it can be seen by anyone across the globe. By reaching a wider audience, you are growing your consumer base and expanding your number of potential customers.

Online marketing also comes with great analytics. By tracking how many people click on your advertisement or tracking how visitors are being directed to your website is a great way to determine which online tactics are working, which will help you better understand your return on investment.

You can also ensure that your messaging reaches your target audience. Through geolocation and niche marketing, you can learn where to find your exact audience, and you can push your advertising through those markets. If you only want your online marketing tactics to reach out to women ages 25-35, you can do that easily with online marketing.

How do I implement online marketing into my business?

First, you need to create a budget. Determine how much money you are willing to spend on online marketing, and that will help you determine which tactics you can afford to use. Then, determine which online tactics will work best for your business. Should you use email marketing? Should you jump on the social media bandwagon? Should you create pay-per-click advertisements? The nice thing about online marketing is that you don’t have to pick and stick to just one tactic, but since there are so many to choose from, it’s important to have a firm grasp on which ones you want to use.

Finally, you need to determine your goals for your online marketing strategy. Do you want to increase traffic to your site, or do you want people to make a purchase? Once you know your goals, take a look back on the tactics you want to use and see if they’re the best fit to achieve your goals. If not, rework your strategies so that they’re in line with your goals.

When done correctly, online marketing can be a huge asset to your company and your bottom line. It allows you to tap into different market sectors, and you can also track your ROI as well as try out different tactics until you find those that are perfect for you.

A Career in CRM Sales

by admin on May 3rd, 2012 at 1:07 am

If you sell CRM (Customer Relationship Management software), then there is really only two points you need to stress to potential clients; Customer Service and Sales. A company’s most important asset is their clients. This includes past, present and future clients. Without them there is no business, no sales and no money coming in.

What is CRM?

CRM, is pretty self-explanatory. It is software programs that manage client relationships and sales.  Basically, when you call into any kind of call centre, the consultant on the phone will be able to see all your details, including previous calls you have had with other consultants. It usually doesn’t matter if you speak to a different consultant every time you call in, because all your previous correspondence should have been captured on the CRM. This same concept applies to other companies which don’t have call centres. Except, CRM can go even deeper and that’s when sales can be optimised.

Customer service

Having a system which logs all customer correspondence has a few advantages. One is that a client will be mightily impressed that you can tell them when, what and with whom their last telephone call or email correspondence was. Another advantage is that you can reference back to their history should a problem or query rise. Staff will know when it is a good time to contact a client, for example: not too soon or too long since the last correspondence. A CRM will also help to measure if contacting a client is relevant, for example:  you may not want to offer them something they may already have purchased. When there is a changeover of staff, new staff members can easily see the status of clients through the CRM.

All a company really needs to do is ensure that their staff get used to using the CRM and always update it after any correspondence with a client.

Sales

Once all clients are on the CRM, they can be categorized into leads, prospects or current clients. This will help sales staff to track the status of clients and sales. A reminder can be diarised for appointments and follow up calls that need to be made.

Categorizing clients can be done in other ways too. For example, they can be sorted into categories according to what they previously purchased. This information is extremely helpful when driving marketing campaigns. Campaigns can be targeted specifically to clients that meet a certain criteria based on what they previously purchased.

With the information you can pull from a CRM you can also pick up on similarities or patterns of clients. This will help you to recognize for example, new arising target markets.
